A study conducted by researchers at the University of Texas and published in BMC Women's Health has found that most women find a wide penis more satisfying than a long penis. The study was conducted by interviewing female undergraduate students and asking them about the effect of penis width versus length on female sexual satisfaction.

The survey found that 90 percent of the women interviewed reported that width felt better, while 10 percent said length felt better. None of the study subjects said they could not tell any difference.


Masters and Johnson have said that penis size should have no physiological effect on female sexual enjoyment, since the vagina adapts to fit the size of the penis. The current results call this conclusion into question, and point to the importance of penis width to female sexual satisfaction.

I would have to agree, I like the width better then length. Sometimes too long can hurt too much. I want to enjoy the intercourse and not be hurt by it.

In my personal experience I dont think either makes a difference. To me if a guy knows how to use what he has it still feels great I think bigger guys tend to for go technic cause they think I have a big one oh well. I like smaller sized guys anyway.

well...is a difficult thing to have opinion...if you are a man and take part on this matter everybody thinks you talk in accord with your size..but anyway i think definitly is not the size but how you use it and how many time you spend trying to make your woman feel good...
i think the size matter have more to do with what you have on your mind,and how confortable you feel with the person you do it...if is the wrong person i dont think the size gonna makeyou feel better cause sex is not only phisycally but mentally too,and in other aspect the nervous conducts in the women vagina are in the first 3 or 2 cmts at the entrance of it...so...thats mean..everithyng have more of fantasy than reality... thanks to sex market and the movies and magazines

I'd like to hear from some more of you gals on this subject. For me to form an opinion would be clearly biased toward thickness as I am only about 6" L but have a girth of over 5". So....... what is the most important to you ladies, size, length, or the attitude and ability of your partner???

For me too wide also hurt and a very thick but short penis would never reach my G-spot. I prefer it longer but not so thick as I can control how much depth it is going in. It is true that the vagina can adapt and used to a particular size if it is received regularly.

I agree with Richard that mutual enjoyment is not just about your equipment but about how you use it and your attitude towards giving your partner pleasure. It is true that a good lover always has great attitude, foreplay and technique. A guy with a large penis is not always a good lover.

Linda is correct in that sex with a guy with a large (wide or long) penis can be painful if he is too forceful or too quick. The woman needs to be in control of how she receives it, and the guy needs to be in tune and follow her lead.

I think all penises, save for the 1 in a mil freaks, are quite capable tools of pleasure. It is the manner with which the penis is used that determines it's effect. I know the 'manner of use' argument is often thought of as a cop-out for those with small penises, but being well endowed myself, I know that an improperly used large penis could be a torturous object.
The key to using the penis to great effect is the realization that all vaginae are not identical.
However, I do believe that a very thick penis is rarely a problem for the wet vagina of a well-aroused woman. This is due to the elastic nature of the vaginal wall.
An overly long penis, however, usually causes problems as it continually pounds against the cervix- and lord knows what else. On this note, i should also mention that I have met a couple of women whom actually desire the contact of the penis with the very end of their vagina.
I believe the key to a good effect is maintaining a non-assuming attitude. Keeping in mind that every vagina is not identical.
