I have been doing a lot of these things without even realizing it was part of the etiquette.
I just wish that there were more men as considerate as you are, Paul. In this business we have to deal with many rude and demanding men, from all backgrounds. So guys like you make our day. Thanks, its very much appreciated.
quote paulh50 :
I always place the fees is an open envelope, on a desk along with my driver's license and passport. I also have my I.D. from the Veteran's Affairs, a federal I.D. and my old State employee I.D. I want the lady to know who I am and not have to worry about her safety as I do not want to have to worry about mine.
This is so important for us whenever we have a "first encounter". Before meeting I ask for a name and a verifiable telephone number and location (often its a hotel). How do you think we feel when:
1. Someone won't give us his name
2. His telephone number is unlisted or does not match the directory listing
3. We don't have enough info to call through the hotel switchboard
4. He does not answer or we get voicemail when we call back to confirm
In the past I have regretted taking a chance and going out on an unconfirmed call (against my better instincts). Even I can be fooled because men who do this can be convincing liars.
