Anyone here use female condoms? If so, what has been your experience with them?

Here is some information about it in case anyone is interested.

Here's a place where you can order them online. Scroll down to see comments from those who have used them.

It's not the most attractive looking thing, but most of it is inside and you can insert it for up to 8 hours before doin it. That right there could be a plus. Also, might be possible to both use a condom for double protection, but you'd have to lube up the male condom welll so they don't abrade each other and break.

I'm going to test one out with a friend tomorrow to see what it is like. I shall let you know if you like.

Take care,
Leslie Layne

In addition, here is a link from the World Health Organization on the female condom.

Okay. I actually tried the female condom out the other night with a well endowed friend (VERY well endowed). If anyone woulda pushed it up to my nose, it woulda been him. :-} He didn't though, and liked it very much. He enjoyed being the sacrificial guinea pig for my experiment too. Oh the things my friends do for me....

From HIS perspective...
1. Although he could tell there was something there, he said it felt smooth and natural all the same.
2. It's not as lubed, though, so we may need to add more lube before divin in.
3. He especially liked not having to "stop and reload" as it were.
4. He liked not having to wear a condom.

My Positives

1. It wasn't that hard to put in. No harder than the diagphram I had back in my 20's anyway.
2. It was cool that I could put it in before he arrived. The outside part rubbed against me in a rather stimulating way. Definitely helped get me in da mood.
3. It was definitely nice for me not to have to stop and reload him. Trying to access condoms after slippery handjobs can be a real bother sometimes.
4. Don't have to deal with messy used condoms during or near the end of a session. I could take this out afterwards.
5. It doesn't look all that bad in. No more so than a condom looks on a guy anyway.

Drawbacks

This was my first time using it, so some of these points could be taken care of with practice.

1. It's necessary for me to hold the outside edges while he first dives in.
2. Everytime he gave an extra hard push, I felt the need to stop and check if it was still there (maybe I was affected by those stories about it getting lost in the netherlands of my body).
3. It may hamper other activities if preinserted. DATY could be challenging. For Gspot stimulation, a finger can go inside or between the the condom and the vag wall. (am I being toooo graphic here?) May not be as aesthetically pleasing, but there are ways to work around it.
4. Gotta make sure you take it out right. Twist first or else stuff end up on the outside.
5. They are hard to find and more expensive than condoms. Had to go to planned parenthood to get them. Although, I expect you an order them online.
6. Thought it might double as a barrier during that time of the month. Tried it. Doesn't work for that. Oh well. I did find Instead cups at Fred Meyer for that. Think those will work well for that purpose. Anyone try those?

I like the idea of the protection already being in so I don't have to stop and think about it or watch all my nice handiwork go down the drain while we stop and fiddle with applying condoms. Timing and navigation of events needs work. Guess it would be good for guys who find condoms so restrictive that it inhibits performance. So what's my conclusion? Hmmmm. I think I'll give it a B for a grade. Need to do some more experimentation. :-D

Take care,
Leslie

p.s. Thanks for the tip SexyTWO. Whenever I go out, I always take a lil bag with all sorts of goodies of which a few varieties of condoms are a basic staple.

Wow, Leslie! What an informative post!
I browsed the net in search for more information and found another female "Condom" :)

"Rapex - the first anti-rape condon, a new invention that will soon be offered to young women who are afraid of going out alone and getting raped. Rapex, the anti-rape condom was invented by South African Sonette Ehler after hearing a rape victim tell her, "If only I had teeth down there." Rapex is shaped like a female condom and is worn internally and prepared with 25 teeth inside of its lining. If a man is to attack a woman and try to have sex with her with the Rapex on, the razor-sharp teeth will fasten onto the attacker's penis when he attempts to penetrate. Although the attacker is sure to be in a lot of pain, the device has no lasting damage, making it completely legal to sell. They will be priced for 1 Rand, which is equivalent to about 14 cents; it will also be available in small, medium, and large sizes.

Not only does the Rapex condom allow the attacker's penis to get "bitten", but it also cripples the attacker long enough for the victim to run free. Some people are afraid that the Rapex condom will cause the attacker to try to harm the victim further out of anger for having the condom bite his penis. Others argue that it is a vengeful tactic and the only way to keep you safe is by yourself. "

Oh my! now there's a new one. Good to stop rapists, but bad for business, I would think.

I feel for the poor shrinking penises of our male members reading that post. Ouch! Don't worry, guys. I wouldn't use that brand on you unless I saw that you were out to rape me. Then I'd call for a time out and quickly change condoms.

Seriously, though, There are some countries where this is very much needed. Many countries where women are trafficked or not held in high regard make rape a real concern. Also, there are countries where rape is a war tactic. This could help the women "fight back" as it were.

Sadly, although there are many in the US who would have legitimate reason to use it, I could also see it being used by vengeful "Bobbit" type wives.

As if guys don't have enough to worry about without wondering what a lady might be hiding in there....

Thanks SexyTWO. This was really interesting to read about. Really like the blog and flowchart too.

Take care,
Leslie layne

Oh my God! The mere thought of this terrible trap will make the prospective rapists to think twice.

It must be a good protection, but I am even afraid to imagine what will happen if the girl will forget to take Rapex out with her husband. He will lose his libido for life.

You're assuming husbands have sex with their wives. Believe me, it's usually so rare that the risk of such an accident is close to zero.

mydearme,

That was true of my last marriage (only 2), the longer I was married the less she wanted sex. No wonder I got divorced.
