I would love to share a poem that means a lot to me.....

I read sometimes when I have a little downtime and it is truly relaxing and thought provoking as well. I would love to share a poem that means a lot to me even in every day life.

"When You Are Old" By: William Butler Yeats

When you are old and gray and full of sleep,
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once, and of their shadows;

How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true;
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face.

And bending down beside the glowing bars,
Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled
And paced upon the mountains overhead
And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.

This poem shows that love can be lost and that we can lose out on true love if we take love for granted, hurt, and break others hearts.
Yeats love interest married someone else and made him very disappointed and missed out on true love. I also think she may have lost out on true love as well.
It's so important to not take each other for granted no matter who we are.
