Wow! I got my eyes checked and now I'm ordering lenses for my frames. I recycle my frames and bought two new sports frames so I won't lose them rafting or sailing. So I paid $60 for one frame and $66 for the other. Now get this the lenses for 2 pairs of glasses is $460.00. Can you believe that? I wanted to ask if they had a gun behind the counter because I felt I was being robbed. I have a hard time seeing how companies (WalMart) can justify that kind of money for lenses, and how can the govt allow the manufactures to charge so much that should be a right and not a prividlege. The right to see.

I got papers from the court and the attorney that the Court is ordering the Estate to be closed and I am to be appointed as sole Trustee of the Estate. There is not going to be much money in it as the attorney have eaten up a third of it. Believe me, get a Revocable Living Trust made and keep it safe. A trust does not have to go through Probate Court and that's when the attorneys eat up the money with revewis and fileing papers and calls and emails. Shit you might as well give them 50% and walk away happy. I hate attorneys and I hate politicians because most of them are lawyers. Fuck, we can win.
Anyway, I'm going to invest the money in my nieces trust, with her permission, in my business. Of course, since it's a family business, she'll have a vested interest in the company if she wishes. If she doesn't we are going to pay her 10% per year on her loan. I'd like to see a bank match that rate.
When I die she'll be the Trustee of my Estate so she'll have charge of every thing I own and she know that to get anything out of my trust she must put money into it. Her investment in our company will only make more money for the trust and the True benificiaries are my grand, great grand children and nieces and nephews and she know that.

Well I do have a detaching retina, that's the bad news, the good news is that there is no tear in it so I don't require surgery. At least, not yet. My eye is cloudy (on the inside, looks fine) and I've got what they call floaters and occassionally I get light flashes which look like a bolt of lighting went off in my eye but this sac in my eye is collapsing on itself. When is gets bad I'll know immediately, the doctor told me I'd get a black dot on my eye the size of a fly, that the time to go to the hospital so I'm wondering if they can do the surgery earlier (now) so it doesn't happen while I'm traveling in a foreign country. That would scare the shit out of me.
I have a friend whose daughter broke her leg in Algeria and had one operation there, went to Germany had two and when she returned to the US she had to have 3 to fix the mistakes of the first 2. When you travel buy travel insurance you don't want to be stuck in some foreging country without money to pay for treatment and you'll max out your credit cards and ATM.
But I'm lucky to have a clear field of view which allows me to see straight ahead out of the eye and the vision is correctable to 20/20 which surprised me. So tomorrow I'll have to find a dive shop and buy a new mask with the propper lenses in it. Yeah, they can do that now. They already have the lenses ground to fit the mask they just pull one out and pop it in and seal the mask. Unbelievabel.
I lost my Ray Ban Aviator sun glasses that I've had for over 30 years, they were gold filled and had cable wrap arround temples which allowed me to turn my head while riding my Harley without them flying off, on a white water rafting trip. My friend felt terrible for me but I told him It was a sign for me to start looking at life in a new way. We had just signed our corporation paper the night before and we are now a legal and legeitment business registered in Costa Rica. Not that we weren't before but now I'm the only other office who can sign legal documents for the corp. I've had a new pair of sport frames made specifically for people who wear glasses and have and active life style, good for volley ball, rafting, hunting, sky diving and every thing else. So it's time for a new vision on life and life is looking good.

It seems that a lot of the members on this site have dropped of or are inactive and with the economy is it's easy to understand why. No Business. There are new people who are active on the boards and some whom seem to be set on disrupting what has been a great web site and I truly wish cover Costa Rica. More of CR's escorting is done in a packaged all inclusive vacatio. But, if you come here you will find them in bars hotels and just about every place else. I don't know about a hotel because I never stayed in one. They've small clean rooms in motels for $35.00 a night.
